Did you know?

Did you know that 5 minutes of sun exposure every day, walking to the mailbox, walking the dog, walking to the car, adds up to 35 minutes a week of incidental sun exposure? So what, you say. Well, those 5 minutes accumulate to 30 hours of incidental sun exposure every year! Most people don’t think of applying sunscreen every day because a few minutes outside doesn’t seem significant. Most people don’t get burned by 5 minutes of sun exposure. But imagine going to the beach for 2 hours without applying sunscreen. Most people would get a nasty sunburn! Now imagine doing that 15 times a year! While the incidental exposure won’t cause sunburns, it does cause other changes to your skin, which most people think of as aging. Wrinkles and thin, easily bruised skin are the result of low-grade chronic sun exposure over years and years. The best remedy to slow down sun-related aging of the skin is to wear sunscreen every day.
